For every job you do around your home, there is usually a type of PPE that should be used. PPE stands for Personal Protective Equipment, and it is used to protect you from many types of danger. It could be gloves to protect you from an acidic chemical, a breather mask to keep you from breathing in sawdust or fumes, or even a hard hat to protect you from falling items. Many times, you will find instructions on PPE that should be used with certain equipment and chemicals.
While PPE might be uncomfortable at times, the benefits far outweigh the discomfort. When you are doing an activity that calls for the use of PPE, you should wear it for as long as you’re doing that activity. Many times, injuries happen because someone took off their PPE just to get a better grip, see better or something similar. If you feel like you need to take a break from wearing the PPE, you should also take a break from the work.
